Presidents of St. Xavier College & Xavier University

 

This collection contains photographs and biographical information about the presidents of St. Xavier College (1840-1930) and Xavier University (1930-present). Dates of each president's term are listed as they appear in To See Great Wonders: A History of Xavier University 1831-2006 by former professor of history and Academic Vice President and Provost, Roger Fortin, Ph. D. There are discrepancies in these dates and the term dates that appear on framed portraits of the presidents. In addition, the numbering of each president's term does not take into account three acting/interim presidents: George R. Kister, S. J. (1931), Francis Mastrianna (1986) and Michael J.
