| Description: | Twentieth president Rev. Albert A. Dierckes was born November 1, 1858 in Ludlow, KY. After graduation from St. Xavier College, Cincinnati, OH in 1878 he entered the Society of Jesus at Florissant, MO. He was ordained at Woodstock, MD June 30, 1892. Except for his term as president of St. Xavier College, Father Dierckes primarily served as a missionary. He died October 8, 1914, in Superior, WI while beginning a new college and serving as pastor of St. Patrick Church. --Xavier Athenaeum, December 1916 --Jesuits of the Middle United States, 1938 |
